This page explains what information CoupleSync uses to provide shared rooms, tasks, chat, and pinboards, and the choices available to you.
Information we use
Depending on how you use the app, CoupleSync may process:
- Account and profile details: your Google account identifier and basic account details when you connect Google, plus your room profile name, picture, and availability status.
- Room content: room and task names, tasks, notes, comments, progress updates, chat messages, reactions, read receipts, pinboard items, and other content you choose to add.
- Files and images: attachments, profile pictures, and images you upload. Private room files are stored in the room’s Supabase Storage area and accessed using temporary signed links.
- Optional workspace content: information you enter in planning, calendar, flight, or finance features.
- Device and connection data: information needed for sign-in, security checks, live room updates, and service operation. Our service providers may process connection details such as IP address, browser, and device information as part of delivering their services.
You can use the demo workspace without connecting a Google account. Creating or joining a shared room requires Google sign-in.
How we use information
We use this information to provide and maintain the app, sync room content between members and devices, show presence and read states, deliver security and anti-abuse checks, and troubleshoot service issues.
CoupleSync does not include advertising in the app. We do not use room content to target ads.
Where information is stored
Connected room data and uploaded files are stored using Supabase. The app also keeps some preferences and cached room or demo data in your browser so it can remember your workspace and support local use. Browser storage remains on that device until it is cleared or the app removes it.
Supabase and Railway may process information in the regions where their services operate. Data protection rules in those locations may differ from the rules where you live.
Service providers
CoupleSync currently relies on these providers:
- Supabase — database, authentication, file storage, and live sync. Supabase privacy policy.
- Google — account sign-in and account linking. Google privacy policy.
- hCaptcha — bot and abuse protection during sign-in. hCaptcha privacy policy.
- Railway — hosting for the CoupleSync application. Railway privacy information.
Each provider handles information under its own terms and privacy practices.
Retention and security
Room information is kept while it remains in the workspace. Some items can be removed using in-app controls. Backups and security records held by service providers may remain for their normal retention periods. If you need help with information that cannot be removed in the app, contact the person who manages your CoupleSync room.
We use access controls, private file storage, and database rules intended to limit room data to authorized members. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Edit your profile and remove content using the controls available in the app.
- Clear browser storage to remove local preferences and cached data from that device. This may sign you out or disconnect the device from its saved room.
- Ask your room manager for help with room data or a broader deletion request.
- Disconnect Google from your profile where the app or Google account settings provide that option. Some room features require a linked Google account.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page as the app changes. The date at the top shows when it was most recently revised.
